Operations Plan Review:
An Independent Eye
on Your Program
An operations plan reviewed only by the people who wrote it has blind spots. Cudd Well Control’s engineers bring more than 500 combined years of field and technical experience to a fresh, independent review of your plan — identifying gaps, validating assumptions, and strengthening the document before it is put to work.
WHAT AN OPERATIONS PLAN REVIEW COVERS
Fresh Eyes Across Your Full Program
Cudd Well Control reviews operations plans across the full
range of oil and gas activities:
WHAT THE REVIEW DELIVERS
What You Get From a Cudd Well Control Plan Review
Technical Accuracy
We evaluate whether the plan’s technical assumptions, calculations, and procedures are appropriate for the specific well, formation, and operating environment described. Where we identify discrepancies, we flag them with supporting rationale.
Completeness
We verify that all essential elements of the plan are present — well control procedures, pressure management protocols, crew responsibilities, notification sequences, contingency provisions, and regulatory compliance documentation. Missing elements are identified specifically, not generally.
Well Control Integration
We assess how well control provisions are integrated into the broader operations plan — whether they are genuinely embedded in the workflow or treated as a separate appendix that crews are unlikely to reference during an event.
Operational Practicality
A technically correct plan that cannot be executed by the crew on location has limited value. We evaluate whether procedures are written clearly enough to be followed under pressure, whether crew roles are defined and achievable, and whether the plan reflects the actual equipment and personnel that will be on location.
Regulatory Alignment
We review the plan against applicable federal, state, and international regulatory requirements and identify any compliance gaps that need to be addressed before the program begins.
WHY AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW MATTERS
The Value of an Outside Perspective

Every organization develops blind spots around its own work. An engineering team that has spent months developing a drilling program is closely familiar with it — which makes it harder, not easier, to catch the assumptions that were never questioned or the procedures that create problems in the field.
An independent review from Cudd Well Control brings a different set of eyes to the document, engineers who will read it the way a regulator, an insurer, or a well control specialist responding to an incident would. A Cudd Well Control-reviewed plan carries additional credibility with insurance underwriters, regulators, and partner organizations.
